Weekend To Remember

Jeremy and I had the pleasure of attending a Weekend To Remember Family Life Marriage Conference (www.familylife.com). I would highly recommend this conference to anyone married or engaged. If your marriage is struggling, you will find answers to your questions and solutions to your problems, and if your marriage is healthy, it is a great faith building preemptive strike to ensure the enemy doesn't lay hold of the marriage territory that is the Lords, because he (the enemy) doesn't have any right to it! Here are a few things that really stood out:

  • My spouse is not my enemy (Satan is)!

  • Unity is NOT uniformity OR unanimity.

  • My spouse is a gift from a gracious God to fulfill a need that not even God himself can fill.

  • To reject your spouse in any way is to say "You missed it on this one God".

  • Truth without love is rude & insulting; love without truth is deception.

  • Just because you've been handed a family legacy doesn't mean you have to keep that legacy for yourself.

  • Conflict is a reality; the goal is not to be conflict free, but to handle conflict correctly when it occurs.

There was so much over the 3 days that we have yet to absorb and really put into practice all the things we've learned, but we are so thankful for the tools we were given to strengthen our marriage and in so doing mirror God's image!

Wow!

I was pleasantly surprised by the view from my office window a few moments ago...
Isn't God GOOD to have 1) created color and 2) enabled the minds of men to create such unique ways of enjoying his beauty?

Close encounters...of the Bullwinkle kind!

So, the temperatures around here have dropped dramatically the last few days...it's 8 below right now. Anyway, when the temps drop, it forces the moose down from the mountains. Well, when Jer got up this morning to go to work around 5:30am, I got up with him to let the dogs out. I opened the garage door, we all 3 ran out and around to the right of the house where they usually do their business...right into a moose!!! She just kind of looked at us. Josie growled and started after her, and Audrey, who did so well and held it without whining all night just dropped and peed, because obviously that was more important!! Plus, I am not sure she is tall enough to see over the snow berm to even see what Josie was growling at! I think there may have been two because after us girls ran back into the garage and shut the door, Jer was coming out the front door to start his truck and ran into one also! So either there were two and we only noticed one, or the one Josie growled at and ran after crossed to the other side of our driveway after we left...Anyway, praise God for divine protection!!

More Valentine's Day!

Jeremy took me to dinner for Valentine's Day. We went to Little Italy, which is one of our favorite spots! It's this little almost hole in the wall mom & pop place where the atmosphere is all about family, food, and wine!! I had the lobster tail and Jer had seafood tortellacci. I decided to broaden my horizons and actually had calamari rings as an appetizer...it was all very good!!
