Homer Memorial Day

We went camping on the Homer Spit this Memorial Day. As always, it was enjoyable and beautiful!! It was overcast and windy in the evenings, but God blessed us with blue skies during the day!!

A few eagles made an appearance....they're such majestic creatures!!This was Audrey's first really long camping trip. She did very, very well. She's only 5 months old and already the same size as Josie...I have a feeling she's going to be a big dog!Josie made a little nest for herself out of this clump of beach grass.Here are Kendra and I the most cold, windy evening by the fire...it was chilly!!!!!!!!

A Sunday Surprise!!

We were preparing to roast hotdogs Sunday afternoon when the doorbell rang. And who was it? Mr Linder!!!! Seeing him in Anchorage was so out of context that it took me a second to recognize him when I answered the door! It brought back one of my first memories of Ketchikan when he and Derek came over and sang Christmas carols!!

He is in Anchorage for business and dropped by to say hello and to check up on John!

Kendra and I had gone on a walk just prior, so she just happened to be at our house as well, so he got to see everyone!!! It was great to see him and catch up...what a blessing!!!

Puppies get a pool!!

On our recent trip to Seward, we discovered how much Audrey LOVES water! After our Seward trip, she would actually thrash her head around her water dish just to get wet!! So, Jer bought her a kiddie pool! She loves it!!! She thinks the fish painted on the sides and bottom are either real, or at the very least toys; she bites and scratches and thrashes around!! Josie is more reluctant to get in...she kind of tip-toes around like she's above being in the water or something!

Happy Mother's Day

We're so blessed to have Barb with us this Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day also to my mom, and to my sister, Becky...this is her first one!!! We love you!!

John is home!!

So, John was discharged this afternoon! Today we set up the downstairs living room and bathroom with all the necessary paraphenalia to ensure safety during his healing. He walks well with his crutches and can even do 3-4 stairs! Physical therapy I assume will start on Monday.

Update on John

Happy to report John's surgery went very well and he's trooping along just fine!!!! Had some hallucinations coming off the anesthesia and some of his pain meds are making his tummy upset, but other than that, he's in great spirits and ready to start physical therapy tomorrow! Thank you everyone for your comments, phone calls, and prayers! He (and we all as well) appreciate them very much!!

Pictionary

So, in an effort to keep John's mind off tomorrow, Kendra, Isaac, and Crystal came over and we all played Pictionary!! Here are a few of the most bizarre! Of course in a sense, I suppose "you had to be there" to find them funny, but still! We have: Umbilical Cord (no offense to you moms!!), Darth Vader, Silence of the Lambs, Ugly, Flexible, Karate, Cellulite, and Belly Dance!! Interestingly enough, they are all Jeremy or Kendra, except for Silence of the Lambs which John drew.

...is scheduled for 10:00am tomorrow (May 9th). Keep him in your prayers!

As sad as the occasion was, it was a blessing to see family again!! I miss them all so much and wish we were closer...thank God however for being able to see them when I can!! And of course, I was able to see my favorite sister and blessed little Petal! Boy do I love that little girl!!
