We took a trip to Homer last weekend. Our first trip to Homer was last year with John and Barb; we loved it so much, we've decided to make it an annual trip! This year we were able to meet up with our good friend's Jon and Kelly, who were celebrating their anniversary - Happy Anniversary guys!
Homer is an adorable little town about 5 hours south of Anchorage. The Homer Spit is a long narrow finger of land 4.5 miles long that juts out into Kachemak Bay. There are a lot of unique shops and restaurants along the spit, as well as the famous Red Dawg Saloon. Our campsite on the spit was right near the house where The Eagle Lady lives (www.eaglelady.com) and were able to get a good shot.

I'll tell you, there is nothing like falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean! Jeremy has wanted to take a halibut charter out of Homer, but this trip they were all canceled because of the wind...maybe next year!

I looks like you guys are making the most of living in such a beautiful place. Good for you, you are making lots of memories, how fun :) Miss you!!
Those are some neat pics! I don't think there's anyplace quite like Alaska!
It sounds like you had a great time. Sure wish we could have been there. Maybe next year.
